Running Wild
Large new establishment in Port Loring at the site of the old hotel on the lakeside called The Port Shores. Happened to drive by on the weekend. Not open yet but looks like they will cater to the camping crowd . No mention of snowmobiler's or snowmobiling on anything I've found yet. No clear info to me about restaurant facilities but they are going to offer take out fries on the deck. They have done a lot of shoreline work along with new docks and it looks like the old snowmobile access point off the lake is closed off. There is a short fenced access trail form the road to their parking lot so snowmobilers may have to get off the lake a few hundred feet east if possible and drive back on the road to the parking area if in fact they are open in the winter. slomo
Link to their website from the facebook page - http://www.theportshores.com/ according to the links for "jobs" they will not be open in the winter - saying jobs are seasonal. http://www.theportshores.com/jobs So in addition to being "cottage life" (surprised there is no spa) useless for sledders with the additional pain of the blockage of lake access - which was one of my favourites....bitter?....yes bitter... I know you meant well RW
bbakernbay
Hopefully this closure won't disrupt the access to Jake's Place and other adjacent businesses.

JJL
saw the blockage of access to the lake earlier this summer. wasn't too impressed. as has been stated, this new establishment will be seasonal, closed in the winter. if they ever open? are they open yet? mjack7
Not open yet. Most likely at this point not open till next spring. It's quite the building and shoreline development that has happened though. Big bucks spent forsure.
