Only asked one question, "what type of radio do I listen to?" when I answered Classic Rock, the survey ended as complete! Was that the wrong answer????? That all depends.... If you want to give the OFSC survey data that they can use to justify purchasing radio adds, then you picked correctly. A vote of "don't listen to the radio" gives the OFSC no excuse, justification, or rationale for using your permit and tourism dollars to purchase radio adds. "Vote early, vote often" - Sir John A. Running Wild
I remember hearing radio ad's from the OFSC promoting snowmobiling and permits when the season was basically over around here. What a waste of air time and money at that time of year. RW

The permit ads are also public service announcements which run under 30 secs... Do you know the cost of a PSA? Not for profit organizations certainly do.... Well Yukon...let me save you some keyboard work and direct folks to your explanation way back in 2010.... http://ontarioconditions.com/forums/index.php?/topic/6471-your-ofsc-money-at-work/ A couple related things.....paragraph 2 for instance....you do not have to buy an advertising package to get free Public Service Announcements as you implied- really surprised none were running during last year's troubles over Bill 101 - and landowner's concerns about this. Good way to reach all over the province especially with centralized ownership of radio networks these days.... There seems to be some discussion as to whether The Intrepid Snowmobiler radio segments are worthwhile - they certainly are not free. Social media is the only way togo Better bang for your buck that's for sure... And as much as some might joke about it, it's the place to be.. Talk radio guy I listen to our of Florida does Facebook live stuff from time to time. His Facebook page has 120,000ish followers. He'll read the stats sometimes FB send a him and that live stream was viewable by up to 3 million people sometimes. Because of the people who liked or shared it. Thier friends have to chance to see and then like it and so on.. I've watched a few videos on YouTube from some guy in Toronto who sold everything bought a sail boat and headed south. He has 60,000 YouTube followers, puts something up new every few days of his adventures sail in the islands. Most of his videos have 2+million views. He has sponsors for his dive equpiment. Local sail company put $8000 worth of new sails for free, just because of the views his videos get. And YouTube pays him as well, and that's how he makes a living. So is crossing over on to other powersports. As for thier radio survey, radio is a dying breed. With so many other options out there now, with internet radio, and services like SiruisXM, Apple Music and Google Music. Radio listernership is fslking every day. People want what they want, they don't want to hear goofy radio ads from some stupid car dealer, or the live remotes from Leon's and The Brick. The radio in my boat doesn't have a way for me to plug my phone in to it (yet). So I've been forced to listen to local stations well at the dock. 80% of the ads are for personal injury lawyers, payday loan companies and pawn shops. If that's radio's target audience, they aren't sleders. Terrestial radio is playing the same old same old even though folks have all these alternatives. Loving the SiriusXM in the new truck. My previous truck had a USB port. W/ the Sirius in the truck I hardly ever have the radio on. The Wolf (owned by Corus) is more or less Q107 North. Very limited & uninspired playlist. As for the radio survey, not sure if it's over, but given the wording it looks like the Supertrax people now with the OFSC marketing contract aren't going to neglect their buddy Craig. Don't miss his hard hitting article on duct tape with a commercial plug for Gorilla brand - seeing a lot of TV spots lately for this brand as well. BTW - if you want the ultimate in duct like tape, visit your local film/tv production supply store and pick up a roll of 'gaffer tape'. This stuff is so good you can hang stage lights with it.
