sledjunk Posted March 15, 2017 Share Posted March 15, 2017 We are thinking of heading up to either Sudbury or Kap about the same time. Leaving here around dinner time on 22nd. If we go to Kap, we will likely stay at the Advantage Motel again. No pool or hot tub, but suits our needs. Could drive across to party. May be 5 or 6 of us. Sudbury is about 5 hours closer each way but with the trail to the hotels closed, that might make the decision for us. Not really interested in saddlebagging but would love to party with WD and crew, as well as Denis and family, when they are in Kap, if we make it that way. Techdenis007 Posted March 23, 2017 Share Posted March 23, 2017 Just took a look at the ITG .... THIS kind of tells a story on who's still got snow and who doesn't .... As much as I'd like to have my friends up to Hearst, I advised them to stay at Kap or East of there as we haven't had any new snow in a month. Town is almost down to dirt everywhere, pretty dismal ... only about a foot of hard crusty snow in the backyard, the trail to the tempo is dirt with a bit of ice left. But I've been thinking though .... the Hornepayne trails are closed, which is all crown land ... probably still very rideable ... didn't want to put another multi-day permit on the new sled to ride our dwindling local trails ...
