revrnd
If anyone is in the Bancroft/Paudash area this weekend, could you ask about the status of the Somerset Inn & Paudash Shores? When I drove by them today, the signage was down for both businesses.

Talk about a useless website - http://somersetinn.ca/ - no pictures of rooms, no indication if they (or parts) are open in winter, trail close by? Just looked at their site and they make no mention of snowmobiling. They do mention cross country skiing though. Maybe new owners are not aware of snowmobiling They will learn the hard way that their web site is an important conduit to their potential customers. Without providing details of your location people will move on and look elsewhere for accommodations. Jerry

Lucky they have a site. While doing research for the database, I have gotten used to getting the useless "hits" on Google when searching. An example of Riverview Market in Field: https://www.google.ca/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=riverview+market+field
grover_yyz
I have a Bancroft question for you Revrnd or anyone else. Can sleds ride on the foot bridge over the river in Bancroft (legally) in the winter time of course? Jerry

Can sleds ride on the foot bridge over the river in Bancroft (legally) in the winter time of course? Jerry Yes, that's SOP to get to the Sword Motel (no longer a Best Western). Getting to the Esso might be a bit on the "iffy" side as you'd have to spark along on the sidewalk.
signfan
That bridge was built and paid for by the Old Hastings Snow Riders club. It's there for snowmobiles. Getting to the gas station is possible too. Little bit of sidewalk to run, but no big deal.
