Akronsnow
Is there a good place to exchange money in North Bay that doesn't require you to have an account ? I know some of the banks require an account to exchange money. Looking at coming up Thursday and I don't know if I'll have time to get to an exchange place here, and at the border doesn't usually give a very good rate. FrostyTheSnowman
I would just exchange a couple hundred at the most for cash on hand and use your CC for best rate as you use it. You'll lose a few points during the buy and sell back to the banks.
Canuck
Today's U.S. sell rate at the best currency exchange place I know in Toronto is 1.3620. Basically, your U.S. dollar buys $1.36 Canadian. Not bad!! Doesn't answer your North Bay question, but it's a handy reference point (I hope) - in case someone tries to offer you 1.25 or something. Need A Vacation
You can also use an atm to have some Canadian cash on hand. May be what we do if we head all the way up Thu night. Won't be getting into the Soo until probably around 11ish, depending on the weather and road conditions. Otherwise we will use our cc/atm card mostly.
