2bsledding
After over a year of planning with appreciation of support from the Town ofGravenhurst and the MNRF,we have just received a work permit to reroute aapprox. 1.5km section of trail on to Municipal and MNRF property. This isGREAT NEWS for sledders travelling in our area! This reroute will remove C101D trail from the Osprey swamp, byreestablishing the old snowmobile trail from years ago. The last 2 years, our groomer has not been able to cross the Osprey swamp which is now about12 feet deep with flowing water. The Osprey swamp has been responsible fordelay in opening C101D and early closure of the trail. If you are able to help PLEASE let us know AND stay tuned to our FB page or this forum forany updates. We will provide a map of the location on FB and on this forum later. See belowfor more info.Trail Work Date: Saturday Novemmber 14, 2015, rain or shine. Time: 8am to late afternoon.Location: Osprey Drive / Turtle Lake Road areaMeeting place at 8am: Snowcrest Snowmobile Staging area off of hwy 169, nearResidence Inn.What to Bring: Appropriate attire, manual pole saws, and other brushing gearas well as items to spend the day.We will have certified chainsaw operators, and a small rubber trackedexcavator to help with the labour. If we do not have enough support, we will have to cancel the excavator rental first thing Thursday morning. This is a time sensitive project with MNRF date restrictions, so we need support to get this done.
