atomic
Does anyone know why the trails around St. Clements haven't opened limited yet this year? I know the whole area has little snow, but the trails north of Wellesley aren't much worse than the ones going south from there that are open. Just wondering if there was another reason than just snow depth, or one club being more cautious than others or something. /RANT Once again this year I see numerous people riding these closed trails around my place. Heard that a farmer was literally standing on trail swinging a broom at sledders riding on closed trails in that area. Seriously knowing the guys that stake these sections personally and the challenges they face with landowners, don't ride closed trails! (goes out to the idiots), or they won't be there next year. /ENDRANT
Bearnecessities
St. Clements trails will not be opened up due to lack of snow on delicate crops of winter wheat and alfalfa. We only received about an inch of snow and it is not enough base to protect the crops. Please be patient and respectful of the landowners. Crop damage costs everyone including our clubs. More crop damage payouts mean higher costs for permits. There are many plowed fields that are extremely rough and dangerous for riding on as well. Trust me our club wants to open our trails. There just isn't enough snow. Nuff said.
Viperules700
X2! Snow cover is really low. We are in a snow draught! Will take a good snowfall to get the groomers rolling. Looks like the funds maybe needed to pay crop damage due to the few idiots that are riding!

PISTON LAKE CRUISER
Groomer went towards St. Clements from Heidelberg at 6:30AM this morning but was already meeting sleds so not sure how much good the grooming would do.
