hi-mileage
Ok I would like to hear from all who use corrosion sprays for sleds, trailers, hitches, whatever . I would like to here about product u use from all sled mfgs, auto parts stores, rustproof company's and so on. Let's talk price, quality, easy of clean up. I will start with the BRP Anti-Corrosion spray can I just used. I think it was $12.00 tax in,expensive I know but works awesome . I picked up a can of Seafoam for the fuel and decided to try the Seafoam Creep but have not used it yet. It was also expensive!! So that is a start, let's see what everyone has learned over the yrs. I also like Krown products!! How come everything I like is big $$$$$ lol.

slomo
Used to be a fan of Krown, but not anymore.Krown contains petroleum products, which will eat away at rubber parts if not at first sprayed with silicone or other protectant. I stopped using this product when the Krown franchise in Parry Sound did not do this property and applique's on my truck began to fade off. They refused to make good on the parts they had damaged. Their excuse was "your car washing soap went bad" ?? WTF? bunch of amateurs.- I still laugh when I think about how ridiculous this was. Eventually after heated exchanges with the Krown franchise, Krown corporate and through the Automobile Protection Agency I got the damaged parts replaced. (no credit for labour needed to replace) Further research on various vehicle forums indicated that swollen gaskets on doors, trunk lids, rubber seals on trunks etc. also resulted from poor application practices. The product also drips all over the place for weeks afterwards. A better alternative is the product used by Corrosion Free available at Canadian Tire as Rust Cure Formula 3000. I do not advocate having your vehicle treated with the spray by Canadian Tire, but other outlets will do a better job. The spray comes out in a gell, will seep into hidden areas and lasts 18 months verses Krown's 12 months. I use Seafoam to cure warts - generally I mix up my own - one third isopropyl alchohol, one third kerosene, one third naptha. I find it interesting that the product was never intended as a gas stabilizer and it even said this on its web site up until about 2 years ago when people started writing on forums that they used it as a fuel stabilizer. I use Stabil Blue Marine for stabilizer - add it to my fuel all winter long at storage strength ratio (about 40 mils per 20 liters)so that fuel is ready for spring storage mode without having to worry. Ultrafrozen
I let the neighbourhood cats piss all over everything. Not a speck of rust yet! JUST KIDDING. I really like silicone spray, on sale at CTC and does not harm rubber or plastic. Cures warts too, just like SeaFoam and Windex.

slomo
HM - on your other post, folks are mentioning Fluid Film. I find this stuff pretty good, but it does wash off quicker than most anti rust applications. Where it really excells, strangely enough, is if you apply and rub it into your seat cover. Repells water well and ice and snow in winter rolls right off. Caveat - the first few times you ride in the new season, you will slide quite a bit or right off the seat. Sorry Bob, I don't go for that brand bashing stuff, I prefer brand promoting instead. Funny thing is when I had a Ski-doo, the cats wouldn't touch it. Not worth pissing on I guess.
