  1. We are doing our landowner lunch again this year, havent had it since 2019 due to covid. We find the landowners like the lunch, gives them a chance to voice any concerns or if they need a new gate or whatever. A token of any kind is better then nothing

  2. We were from Bonfield to Stonecliff last weekend, did the A, the Mica Mine, loop around Bonfield. Stayed in Mattawa for the weekend

Did the A down to the bottom end of 197,  and back up the 197

All was quite good but snow is thin in spots, the odd rock, the hydro line out of Mattawa is rough for maybe 5 km.

Clubs are doing an amazing job for the snow they have to work with.

Everything looked good from the highway down to Pembroke

  3. We were up in Saint Zenon last week for a couple days, we were pulled over by trail patrol. They even had flashing lights on their sleds.

Thought it was the police at first but just trail patrol, as they couldnt speak english at all and only checked for permits.

Quebec will still be there when theres nothing left in Ontario, Ive personally lost faith in the OFSC they seem to be focused on the wrong things and have put too much on the volunteers.

Its at the point where every club should have a paid administrator just to keep track of paper work, its unbelievable.

Really pinch us hard on paid operators vs volunteer, drivers abstracts, wages etc, I can imagine the time they wast discussing this stuff when they should be trying to come up with solutions for the things that are killing the sport and closing trails

Hydro Line, yes.  Volunteers,  Time etc. 1 groomer also iirc for SRF. They have also been working on there section of C south

So what are you saying, the system is run by volunteers, that have jobs, families and a life

Hard to imagine, Surely these volunteers dont actually own a sled and like to put a few k on themselves

    Likely get free permits

Is the club or district paying for the work?

I get the feeling that some of you are upset about this. Try looking @ it another way. For years the average (read uninformed) snowmobiler has felt that the bureaucracy of the OFSC is an old boys club/business done behind closed doors/people lining their pockets operation...

When these same people hear that certain executive members are getting paid (w/o knowing why) that's when the rumours arise.

Paid by district, but like I said some is paid and a lot is volunteer

No old boys club here, we openly invite anybody to our meetings.

Have not seen a line up at the door yet, some nights hardly have enough to hold a meeting.

I would gladly give up my position and sit and watch for trails to go green, especially if accused of lining my pockets

  6. We were out yesterday staking a lake a doing some signs, come to the clubhouse to get some pickets, 5 sleds sitting there.

New sleds, 2 had visible permits, 2 had them in their pocket, 1 didnt have one at all

I lost my crap on the guy with no permit, I was going to take a pic of his reg. numbers, but he didnt even have that. I had to walk away

    Bring on the OPP

I check out OC to get information relevant to snowmobiling. I don't go to OC to hear the political views and slurs of PLC, stoney and Muskoka1. You guys will eventually shut the light out here, just like all the other forums.

Im on here every night, just reading comments kills time right now, If you dont like it why you here

  8. Yes i agree its awesome news, Its a great access into Quebec, my wife and I staged out of Kirkland Lake last year, went from there to the Val dor Amos area. The lake and the few km of ungroomed wasnt the end of the world by anymeans, sure will be great to  be groomed right to the border

  10. Myself as a long term volunteer, I hope with the lack of snow and the covid restrictions, some of the newbies and Jerks will get out of the sport

I am sick and tired of off trail BS, and the lack of respect volunteers and clubs get for the work they do.

Maybe the OFSC and the lesters could get together, , buy some private land for their Off trail market,  which is all you see on their mags anymore

Sorry for the rant but I know Im not alone on this

  11. She is clearly a liar, as we have not received Land Use Agreement from her yet either in our area

EOTA does the same to us every year on the rail bed between Sharbot Lake and Mountain Grove

We wanted to do some grading on that portion, but with out an agreement we can’t get a PO for the work

  12. My son and I actually watched a couple of their episodes on youtube tonight, Although I dont agree with some of their ideas about off trail riding, I do like their sled reviews and miss the magazines.

I still have all the old buyers guides back to 2010, still read them on the throne
