  1. Great idea. We will move all theft postings into this thread.
  2. Here's some more good weather news... Winter is coming, Ontario — and La Niña is going to make it one to remember Don’t let the incredibly mild October fool you. Winter is coming and it’s coming faster than many of us would like to see. We are in the second year of a back-to-back La Niña also known as a “double dip.” These colder-than-normal water temperatures in the equator region of the Pacific Ocean are an influencing factor on weather patterns around the planet. Here in Canada, an altered mid-latitude jet stream favours more cold and snow out west, with above-normal precipitation around Southern Ontario but often with bouts of warmer weather. It’s important to keep in mind that no two La Niñas are alike and other factors often play into the winter weather pattern. This year we are watching an early season SSW (Sudden Stratospheric Warming) event which can be a precursor to a displaced polar vortex. If this were to occur, it would likely be in late November and December, adding to the already chilly pattern we are forecasting around the Great Lakes. Those giant bodies of water are unusually warm for this time of year, thanks to the mild fall and an early Arctic outbreak would mean significant lake effect snow. It’s something we are looking out for. Click below link to read more.. https://globalnews.ca/news/8324459/ontario-winter-forecast-2021-2022/?utm_medium=Facebook&utm_source=AM980London
  3. Welcome to the forum Tim. I hope you enjoy yourself here.
  4. Quite a bit of snow is expected in the next two months before the season officially starts. Winter In Canada Is Coming Quick & Some Provinces Are Going To Have It Snowier Than Others Brace yourselves: it seems that winter in Canada is right on the horizon and some provinces will be in for way more snow than others. The Old Farmer's Almanac long-range weather forecasts show what's in store for the next two months based on past data from Environment Canada and the predictions for October and November are out now with snow and cold expected. In southern Ontario, it's forecast that snow will move into the region by the end of October in the form of flurries and snow showers. Then in November, snow and cold temperatures are expected almost every week! For southern Quebec, there will be a couple of wintry bursts in October before more consistent periods of snow and cold barge into the province in November. 5. I found that a divorce before retirement makes the retirement wayyyyy easier and alot more fun
  6. I visited your club's Facebook page and see lots of content but no requests for volunteers. When I joined the New Dundee SC, I started a website and got a lot of new people come to meetings which resulted in many more club members helping with trail staking etc. We had monthly club meetings especially during the riding season were very popular. We'd go out for a ride after the meetings too. The New Dundee club was being run by the same 6 people for many many years. The club's need new blood. With 1000 people liking your page, getting 20 volunteers should be fairly easy.
  7. Great job!!! Thanks for sharing with us. How many volunteers does your club still need? This forum is a good place to get some.

  13. This is what my signature is about too.. Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. A amazing way to live, and having a great wife is what makes that all possible. Respect for both Lynne and you.. Cheers
  14. Happy Birthday Nunz.. Have a great day
  15. I'm pretty sure you had Canuck at 40 Creek
  16. Make sure one of those trips is to New Dundee. We'll ride out to Heidelberg to the The Olde Heidelberg Inn for pork hocks. And ride the some awesome District 5 trails.
  17. Think it's the "Peter Principle" again. It's been a huge problem for businesses for many years. The Peter Principle is a concept in management developed by Laurence J. Peter, which observes that people in a hierarchy tend to rise to their "maximum level of incompetence": employees are promoted based on their success in previous jobs until they reach a level at which they are no longer competent, as skills in one job do not necessarily translate to another.
  18. Hasn't the trail permit been $200 for the last 15-20 years?
  19. Or tally it up and issue hundreds of claims
  20. Clubs could do some sort of fund raiser (raffle etc) to raise money for the Land Owners. A Land Owners Appreciation Raffle comes to mind. We raised tons of money through our hockey teams like that. Just a thought.
  21. We had a cottage at Conestoga Lake and sold after 2 years and bought one in the Long Point area (Port Rowan). The BS from the GRCA was too much to take. I'll never own anything on leased land ever again. Besides my boathouse which is I have a water lease (never any problems).
  22. Marty just messaged me and the sign up issue had been corrected.. Thanks Marty
