  1. Well my buddy wanted to ride his rebuilt Boost so last minute we decided to head to Poplar Point Camp by Elk lake and try place out. Great cabins. And super owners. We went out with owner for a ride Friday afternoon and ran out of snow to north East. So we turned around and rode South into the higher elevations. Fun ride on logging roads. Yes some thinner spots. Yes I hit some rocks. Today my buddy and I were out for a few hour run. And heading out again after lunch. I know it’s not for everyone but I already own the sled and extra carbides. Plus spare skis so WTF.

  2. You guys can all thank me for this snow. If this car stayed in storage it would be +15c and sunny.

  3. Skied there on Friday with the family, conditions were great, good temps and fresh snow all day. We didn’t see any brown patches, bonus day out for us, nice to have one more “winter” day. My little guy took to skiing well this season, no issues making it down the bunny hill without falling. He’ll be 3 in June. My wife’s in for some competition next season.

  5. How is this for a deal? Not sure if this is some type of April Fools joke? https://sudburyyamaha.ca/en/Snowmobile/adid/31183921/2024-Yamaha-SRViper-L-TX-GT-Sudbury-ON/ Waiting for Farmer to say that he might offer them $8K and see if they take it. LOL.

  7. My chum had a Jeep pick-up in high skewl. Straight 6 with Desert Dogs. Those tires are so loud, that he lost his muffler on the way to skewl one day, and didn't know it 'till he got there. Found it on the way home. .

  12. Is that Jens old sled? I am not in a huge panic but I am definitely keeping my eyes open for a nice 600X or something comparable for $10K. All my buddies are getting rid of their sleds and I would have ridden more this winter if my dad would have come with me. My mom wont let him buy another sled but he is always up for rip somewhere.

  13. Agreed. My sled is washed, polished, fogged and in my trailer for the summer. It will take more than 154kms of yellow trails for me to drive 10hrs north at this point. I am in dirt bike mode at this point as well.

  22. I sold an 8 foot box popup last summer that weighed in at just over 1000 dry. A guy working in BC sent his father from elliot lake to owen sound for pick it up. From the time I posted it till he got here I had well over 100 replies. It was insane. I listed one of my boats yesterday and it was sold in ten minutes by a fella from parry sound. Didnt want a water test, didnt want to see it run on muffs. Just pulled the cover off threw it in the truck and left. I guess folks are willing to travel for a good deal. I dont like sitting on things I'm selling, just want em gone.

  24. I remember for a while near the end there other dealers refused to service a sled bought at Coffeys. They turned em out for a time

  25. But those same dealers made out like bandits for the last 3 years too

  26. The dealers can't afford to take a non stop bath - esp. when the manu's force units down their throats. The manu's need to step in and assist or there will be NO dealer network to peddle their stuff anymore. Banks will not finance these dealers forever either. The bubble is about to burst. Affordability along with a horrible winter is likely what the sport needed to be honest

  27. Apparently - that is a sign of it having had a wrap on it. They strip all the OEM decals off and put on ... those ... things .... I really don't git it .... So then, when they go to sell, they either have to find someone that thinks that wrap is kewl or they need to take it off and sell with no decals, or fetch new ones again. Can't say how many times I see a sled for sale. 1 yr old Laundry list of aftermarket shtuff they bolted onto it Don't forget the really kewl wrap! 400 miles $5000 in aftermarket BS and they got 400 miles on it... I jist don't git it.... .

  31. I've had a Royal Distributing one for years now. No problems lifting any of the sleds I've owned. Renegade 1200, Yamaha Vector, Cat Turbo, Mach Z900 R. My '79 SRX has been sitting on it during the summer for 2 years just to make more storage space in my shed. I have an adapter on it so I can use a 1/4" Impact to raise and lower.

  32. Best tire I found for pickups. I ran them all on a fleet of 20 vehicles and they were everyones favourite and always the longest lasting. Granted that was 5 years ago now, so maybe there is something better, but I just put a new set on my personal truck and am still very happy with them.

  36. Wawa to Dubreuilville is roughly 55-60 miles depending on route. Dub to Hornepayne is 100 miles. Hornepayne to Hwy 11 (where Mooseland/Bambino's Truck Stop was) is approx 60 miles no services). You can then go East into Hearst about 40 miles (The opposite way to Longlac area), and overnight. Or Head west to Longlac which would be approx 107 miles at the hwy11 corner. From Hearst to Longlac is 162 miles. This year as Nunz stated, there was a new place to get fuel at the Pagawa River. Once in Longlac, you can go to Geraldton and the Greenstone loop or, you will have to deadhead back the way you came, as the trail goes to Caramat but, does not go to Manitouwadge any longer. You cant go from Wawa to Dub, to White river, then to Manitouwadge to Longlac like we used to (pre 2008ish). The trail system is broken up, further to the west and north. Not everything is connected. Depending on the snow, and the condition of the roads, you could possibly make it from Caramat to Manitouwadge but, you would be at the mercy of the Industrial road, which depending on the status, could be plowed tight, and sanded, or could have 3 feet of powder on it. If it is not plowed, it could eat a lot of fuel before you got to Mani. The last time we did that route, we went Geraldton to Hillsport (105 miles), then on to Mani (another 40). Without the detour to Hillsport it is approx 60 miles from Caramat to Mani. So, approx 90-100 miles of road/trail, no fuel, no services, no trail, plan accordingly. The trail has been taken back over by nature, from Caramat to Mani, that isnt even an option now. If they open the new motel in Hornepayne this fall, you "could" ride wawa to Hornepayne, and over night. then Hornepayne to Longlac, and over night. Do the greenstone loop, and over night, then head back. If the motel doesnt open, you could ride wawa to hearst (approx 250 miles), and over night, then on to Longlac the next day. Good luck. Ski

  41. The bunny hill does make for a long day, I tried to get a few runs in here and there throughout day to split it up. It is surprising how well the little ones do, the lack of fear, or feeling of pain definitely helps. Some of the most fun he had was falling and being covered in snow, and laughing his butt off.

  42. Tire rotation is key to any tire, especially a tire that has an aggressive or semi-aggressive tread pattern. On my second set of Duratrac tires, first set had 100k. I’ve had good luck with them so far.

  44. Just put my riding gear away for the summer this morning, and calculated my exact mileage for the winter - 399 km. Hmmm! I will head north if I can convince any buddies to go. Have started to prepare for a bike trip to WV in 3 weeks, but don't need much time for that.

  48. The section of trail 5 east from 595 to 597 is the most scenic section of the north shore and should not be missed in my estimation. There are I believe 7 large mountains that you climb and crossover on this section with amazing views of the coastline and the St. Lawrence. When you come down off each mountain you will find a valley with a stream running to the coast and often a village or town at the coastline.
