  1. Nov 14th / 2018 Quick and nasty storms come off of Lake Superior dumping a good amount of snow in a short period of time, then within 3 days or so, melted until cooler temperatures move back in. This was Nov 14th last year. It is not an early start record, as we have ridden in October before. We will be riding within 30 days from now.

  2. That may be true...Sept 7th, to be exact, so I guess that makes me first. Unfortunately, it was on an Arctic Cat 3000 touring sled...what a slug!

  5. I've enjoyed dinner at Zet's over the years. On Airport Road. It is " fast food" , but not in the McDonald's re-heat way. Souvlaki, burgers....grilled. Arizona Grill lounge on Carlingview used to be good for drinks and apps - owners haven't invested in the venue. Now rough around the edges.

  9. I'm ahead of you. I've been riding sleds back and forth between the shop and warehouse across the street for about 3 weeks... we have these ski wheel things that hook onto the ski loop with a wheel on either side of the ski, they work great !! Just finished an engine rebuild and moved it across yesterday. Must be close to 1 km by now !!!!

  15. Yes, I re-read the post. My bad. There are a few changes on the board of directors this year, so I'm trying to nail down the body responsible for the "trail sponsor" signs. I've never actually took any pics of those ones, but they are all the same size and are blue and (reflective) white, as per OFSC signage guidelines. These, too, are done by Northern Signs here in Kap. I'll post with more info as soon as I know.....

  16. I'm thinking he's referring to the lineup of individual signs just getting into town at either end of the A trail. It is very impressive to see. They had some similar signs here but are all but gone now.

  17. Gotta say those Kap signboards are among the most impressive I've seen in Ontario. Anyone have a pic they could post? It's something our local Business Community should see. Thanks.

  18. Our first ride of '02/'03, as you can see on 12/15 Outside of Hornepayne. First [only] tracks accrost a few lakes (slushy) and I think we got turned around in a swampy section at the bottom of a long hill that we would have loved to have been able to climb on. Again - here applies the heavy rubber boots! Snow was heavy. [may as well attach the pic eh?]
